Cedillo to Host Binational Immigration Forum at City Hall

To Host Mexican Legislators and Congressmembers from New Administration

Los Angeles—Councilmember Cedillo will host a binational immigration forum with deputies and senators of the Congress of Mexico, the new federal government and representatives of the Ministry of the Interior to focus on improving the quality of life of Mexicans living on the both sides of the border. This effort is the follow-up to the First Binational Forum that took place in Chicago, Illinois earlier this year with representatives of many local and regional organizations and ten Mexican representatives.

The objective of the Second Binational Forum, sponsored by The Coalition of Mexican Migrants and by the Office of Councilman Gil Cedillo, is to express the feelings of Mexican immigrants regarding their needs, the immigration system in the United States, to present constructive proposals before Mexico’s new government, the elected Congress and the President-elect. It seeks to combine efforts between people and government on a common path to improve the living conditions of the vast majority of Mexicans on both sides of the border.
